This article will explain how to design Manual Inspection test sequences, including how to use the WWF designer. Test sequences used in Manual inspection can be defined and designed in the MES manager (WATS Control panel -> Manual inspection). DESIGN A MANUAL INSPECTION SEQUENCE
Navigate to the MES manager (WATS Control panel -> Manual inspection) and click on the sequence you would like to design. Start designing the sequence by clicking the “Design” button in the action bar. This will open a pop-up, which request that you download the WWF installer. Click “Install Designer”. When the designer has finished installing, click the “Open” button. Click the sequence file after it has finished downloading, this will automatically open the sequence in the WWF designer.
The sequence will be outlined in the sequence outline section of the designer. This is the sequence structure that will be displayed when executing a test sequence.
You can drag and drop different step types from the toolbox onto the sequence in the Designer view. To configure the properties of a step, click the […] button for that step.
Each step has a set of properties which can be set to determine how Manual Inspection will treat these steps when executing the test sequence. Some properties are unique for the given step type, while others are common for all steps. Let's go through some of the properties:
If you would like to add test instructions to your sequence, you can add a URL to a PDF file that you would like to be displayed when executing the test sequence (Child steps inherits media URL from parent).
if you're running skyWATS:
- Supports HTTP/HTTPS:
- Supports websites behind basic authentication
- URL must be publicly available.
if you WATS is On premise:
- Supports UNC paths (e.g. \\Server\Folder\FileName.FileExtension):
- Supports password protected folders
- Only supported for On Premise customers, WATS application server must have connection with server the UNC path resolves to
UUT/UUR Miscellaneous fields
Misc info's specified in this grid will be displayed as header data when executing a test sequence. If specified and active, the operator is required to enter a valid value for the misc info before he is able to complete execution of the test sequence. The mask can contain specific value or a regex.
Text entered here will be visible when the step is active. This field should contain a description for the step.
A parameter that decides if an image is required to pass the step. Images can be uploaded while executing the test sequence.
PDF search string:
The PDF viewer will try to match the text in this field if present in the PDf document. If PDF page number is present it will look for the text on that page, if not it will look for the text in the whole document and scroll to the first instance of that text.
PDF page number:
The page of the PDF document that should be displayed on this step.
Pass All Affected
Check checkbox if you would like the step to pass if the "Pass All" button is pressed in Manual Inspection.
SAVE THE TEST SEQUENCE
When you’re satisfied with the design of the sequence, click the “Save” button. Wait for the confirmation dialog, then close the designer. Your sequence is now ready for execution.
